What is a Student Council?
Student council is the most well-known school organization conducted by students and supervised by teachers and school administrators. The purpose of establishing a student council in schools is to allow students to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and project work. Furthermore, the student council serves as the voice of the entire student body. The voice out concerns, ideas, and interests to the whole and school and the community. To determine the members of the student council, they go through an electoral process where the school elects the members.

1. Title Page
Include the school name and logo, name of the project, the current school year, name of the student council hosting the project, and the name of the lead officer officiating the event (usually the chairman or the president of the council).
2. Project Goals
Before diving in to explain more details about the project, give at least three goals you want to accomplish for your project. To help your goals be more feasible and realistic, you can refer to the SMART goals guidelines.
3. Project Details
This is the part that you’ve been waiting for. Here is where you can elaborately explain what your proposed project is going to be about. Include details such as the sample timeline of the project, venue where the project will be held, the event type (could it be a seminar, community building, entertainment, or fundraising), your target audience (could it be the community, faculty, or students?) and a paragraph that further describes your project.
4. Budget Details
Here is where you get technical with numbers. You will explain your budget and funding details. State the cost of the resources needed to do the project, promotional or advertising costs, and other costs analysis that your project may have. Don’t forget to include your current budget information, and if needed, your plans for obtaining other sources to fund your project. If the project’s goal is to raise money, include details on how the project will gain revenue.
5. Project Planning
This part can be a little complicated for you to do alone so you might need to ask your co-members to help you create your plans on doing the project. You can make an action plan that will extensively describe the tasks you’re going to do for the project, the people responsible for those tasks, the timeline to finish it, and the resources you will need to aid you in these tasks.
6. Advertising Plan
To promote your project, especially if it’s a large-scale project, you need a marketing plan to successfully promote it. Explain the methods you will do to advertise the project, and the resources you will need.
7. Faculty Representation
The last part of the proposal is where you will state who will be the assigned faculty member to assist and mentor the students in doing the project. This is to make sure that the students are being guided in the right direction of the project scope.
