Creating an Assignment Schedule Plan

Organizing and disciplining is the main key to ensuring that your grades are all in good standing. Getting all your assignments done on time every day or before the deadline would be great. You may also allot a time slot on a daily basis wherein you can make your assignments to make sure that you do not miss any of them. You might be interested in using a time schedule.

Developing an assignment schedule can seem like a tedious task. But whether you deem it to be tedious or otherwise, it will definitely be worth it. So how do you get started on your assignment schedules? Follow the steps that we have down below.

Setting Up

1. Time frame.

Decide on the amount of time that you would like to allow for making your assignments. A good time frame would be after school before dinner comes around. You can also allot different time frames for every day. For example: Monday – 2hrs., Tuesday – 1½hrs., Wednesday – 1hr., etc.

2. Consider travel time.

A ton of times, you might not get home in time for doing your homework on your scheduled time. What you can do is, when you are on your way home riding in a bus or in a car, you may opt to get a head start on your assignment and you can finish it once you get home. This will ensure that you are still able to do your assignment within the day. You may also see meeting schedule samples

3. Study halls, homeroom time, and free periods.

During this time, if you have nothing planned, you can definitely start on some of your assignments most especially if they are some of the more complicated ones. Plus, this means that you have more TV or Internet time when you arrive home. Doesn’t that sound great? Sure, it may be great to be with friends during your free time but hey, if you do not want to end up complaining that you have a lot of assignments and projects to do at the end of the day, you better make use of some of that free time for studying and doing assignments instead. Check out study schedule samples for reference.

4. Doing anything on Fridays?

If you have anything to do during Fridays, you may opt to not include this in your assignment schedule most especially if you and your friends have a regular thing to do during this day. However, if you do not have anything regular with friends, you can include this. Doesn’t an assignment-free weekend sound good? We bet it does! You may also like sample project schedules

Study Space

1. Consider your environment.

You might not think much about where you will be doing your assignment but actually, it will matter. You want to make sure that you will not get distracted by any external forces such as loud noises coming from your siblings or the television. 2. Prepare your supplies.

You want to make sure that you have all your supplies prepared. Doing this can help you save time as you already have everything within your reach. Before going home, make sure that you have all the textbooks that you need and all the materials you need such as your pens, paper, and notebooks. You may also see sample work schedules

What Needs to Be Done?

1. List down your assignments.

You may also include your projects and essays. You may also include a couple of descriptions or brief details about the assignment that you will be doing to avoid any confusion. You may also include in your list what your reward can be if you finish everything before your expected end time so you will have something to look forward to.

  • Make sure that you assign a day and time per assignment that you have. Perhaps utilizing an hourly schedule can help you in this.

2. Know what you need to do for all the assignments that you have.

Make sure that you list down what you need to do per assignment. This way, you will not waste too much time in figuring out what it is that you need to actually do. To make an organized list of what you need to do, you may include the following details:

  • The subject of your assignment
  • The type of assignment (essay, reaction paper, research paper, etc.)
  • The details or what you should include
  • Number of pages or required word count
  • The deadline or due date of the assignment

You may want to check out Checklist Templates in Word and incorporate your assignment checklist in your assignment schedule.

3. Getting Everything Done

  • Estimated time frame. Make sure that you include a time frame. Make it a realistic one. More complicated assignments may take a couple of hours or even a couple of days to finish, so consider the complexity of the assignment that you have. You may also see appointment scheduling samples
  • Setting priorities. You want to make sure that you give priorities to assignments that have earlier deadlines.
  • Break down your schedule. You should also pencil in your break times to ensure that your brain gets a break from everything that you will be doing. This is especially important especially if you are handling multiple assignments during the day. Your breaks will help to refresh your brain and make it ready to tackle the assignments that you have. A good 10 to 15 minutes break for every hour that you allot for your assignments is going to be enough. You may also like class schedule samples
  • Stick to your schedule. This is probably the hardest thing to do ever. Discipline is key to ensuring that you meet all of the deadlines that you have. Your schedule will not work if you do not put in the effort to follow it.
  • Never procrastinate. Procrastinating will make your assignments end up being mediocre and will probably not get the grade that you are hoping for. Do not spend too much time sulking over the fact that you have a lot to do. Sure, you might not even be in the mood to do your assignment but sulking will only waste your time. Better start making your assignment even if you only get to do a little bit at a time. Doing a little will always be better than not doing anything at all.
