Moviegoers always pay attention to the plot and lines of the film, how the actors deliver their dialogues and the meaning behind them. Oftentimes, moviegoers are mesmerized by the script.
A film is able to conceive great scenes and compelling scripts with the help of a script storyboard. A storyboard is the foundation of every film. This is how filmmakers begin their journey of transforming their vision into a reality.

What Is a Script Storyboard and How Is It Used?
A script storyboard is a visual board containing rough sketches of scenes together with the corresponding dialogues of every scene. It is a guide for filmmakers in conceiving their film. It helps filmmakers see an overview of the final outcome, which makes it easier for the actual shooting process. Digital storyboard template is another way of creating a storyboard but in a digital manner. The primary use of a storyboard is to act as a framework for the film. Filmmakers heavily rely on a storyboard to know the scenes to take in the shooting process, which really helps in creating artistic shots.
Difference between Storyboard and Screenplay
A storyboard comprises of sketched sequences, including dialogues, location, and time of the scene. An example of a storyboard is a comic storyboard template. Storyboards can also be used in videos and comics, other than films. On the contrary, a screenplay is the script of the film. It indicates the acting style and scene descriptions such as location and time of a certain scene. A screenwriter usually produces this kind of work.

Ways to Make a Storyboard
In making a storyboard, storyboard samples are helpful to get you some ideas about the template of a storyboard. To create your own storyboard, here are ways you can do.
- Visualize: Visualize the images you want to create in your mind. It’s good to picture out these ideas so you can directly translate them in your storyboard.
- Template: A ready-made template helps in making a storyboard easier since all you need to do is directly sketch and add the necessary details. However, if you don’t have a template, you may create your own. Simply draw empty frames with the same sizes on an illustration board. Draw some lines at the bottom of each frame for the scripts and description of the scenes.
- Sketch: Sketch the scenes you want to take, including the perspective of the camera. Make sure you can identify in your sketch the final scenes you wish to see on the screen.
- Indicate Details: Write the important details of your storyboard such as the dialogues, location, and time of the scene. Also, add some descriptions on the scenes.
Tips for Making the Best Storyboard
In producing the best storyboard, your only requirement is to be imaginative and creative. Let your creative juices flow and translate them into sketches. Every storyboard is unique in its own ways. You only need to put your heart and effort in creating a storyboard to make it the best.
