This iteration of the term program does not mean a software or an application, rather it focuses on the type of program that is usually done in conventions, meetings, and/or any form of gathering being done to share information. A program is essentially a means of sharing information to a wide range of people. It is the plan or the curriculum that every individual attending a conference will receive so as to be informed of the schedule and proceedings of the event. This can be done easily by availing one of our program templates on this site.

The uses of program templates will be defined below, so read on to learn more about programs.

How to Write a Funeral Program

  • In the cover page portion of the funeral program, attach the most recent picture of the deceased (for obvious reason, assure that the picture was when the deceased was still alive).
  • In the next page, affix characteristics of the deceased. This usually includes the duration of the deceased’s lifetime (for example: 1996–2017).
  • In the next page, identify the funeral arrangements for the deceased, meaning identify the different activities that the ones attending the funeral will be going through.
  • Add some inspirational quotes at the end of each page.

What Is a Program?

A program is a means of sharing information to a group of people who are involved in a certain event or convention. In the case of an event, the type of program to be used would be an event program, in which the program should contain all the relevant information about the event. Simply put, a program is a combination of a flyer, an invitation letter, and a request letter all into one document.

How to Make a Wedding Program

A wedding, one of the key important parts of any human being’s life. It is a sign of unconditional love and the union between two separate individuals into a family. So when you’re planning for your wedding, you should take some time in making some wedding programs so as to inform your guest of your wedding, and in some cases, doubles as the invitation letter for the wedding. Now here are some tips in writing a wedding program:

  • Create a time table. This is to allow the guests to arrive on time and to allow them preparation time to attend your wedding and bring gifts for the bride and groom. This will also inform the guests on the schedule of the wedding, making them clear up their schedule for that date and time to attend the event.
  • Identify the name of the groom and the bride. It can get awkward if the guest arrives and does not even know the name of the bride and groom, so to avoid a blunder, indicate both their names clearly.
  • Identify the events that have been planned out for the entire duration of the wedding.

What Are the Essential Elements in a Program?

In order to identify or specify specific elements of a program, we must first select a program as a point of reference in indicating its important elements, so in this case we will be pointing out the important elements of a memorial program. Some, if not all, of the elements listed below are similar to that of other programs. Here are the list of elements:

  • The What – This portion of the program will basically identify the main purpose of the event. In the case of a memorial program, the topic would be to remember the deceased for their actions when they were alive.
  • The When and Where This would indicate the time and location of the event in question and will allow guests or attendees to prepare for the occasion.
  • The How – This portion of the program would indicate the events that will be present during the occasion.

Tips to Create the Best Program

Earlier we discussed how to write a funeral program, but now we are going to discuss how to write the best program you can. Writing or creating a good program could leave a lasting impression about you and your ideas for events, so in short, the better your programs, the more positive the reactions of the readers. Here are some tips in writing a program:

  • Match the mood of the event. Matching the mood of the event with the design of the program is essential, due to the fact that the wrong mood can set off an awkward situation. For example, you made your program in a happy and energetic type of design for a funeral. People will be offended and angered for obvious reasons.
  • Keep the introduction:
    • Short – People are more likely to pay attention to any written format if it is kept short.
    • Simple – Simplicity allows others to understand its meaning easily.
    • Lasting – Include a short quote or pun that would allow people to remember the statement and the event.

Advantages of Using a Program

Using a program (not a software application) have certain benefits to it. It is a means to an end, so to speak. The different advantages this type of document can provide would be:

  • It can set the mood. Basically, when we read through a program, our emotions will directly be related to the information in the program. For example, let’s say you received an obituary program or a child funeral program, your obvious response would be that of either grief, sadness, or depression, which would be the correct response to a loved one passing away.
  • It creates awareness. It informs the reader of an event that would like to have their attendance.
  • It has multiple purposes. It can be used to inform others about a potentially important event that will be happening soon, serve as their invitation to the event, and request others to attend the event.
