Custodians may be found in all companies or institutions that hire them. Oftentimes they are entrusted with all the keys besides cleaning duties. Sometimes they even act as guardians of the place. It’s important for custodians to not only be diligent and experts at cleaning, they also have to be trustworthy since they have the big responsibility of not only keeping their assigned areas clean, they also need to keep the area safe and all equipment being stored properly in their places.

Depending on their assigned tasks, some custodians double as gardeners, keeping the lawns clean and mowing the grass besides watering the plants. Most offices nowadays incorporate green environments, and it’s not unusual to see gardens and even miniature forests inside buildings with glass domes. These have climate-controlled environments that are either automated or switched on and off manually. Most of these controls fall on the responsibility of the custodian.
