What Is a Startup Company Profile?

Company profiles act as your company’s introduction to be presented to potential customers and investors. It is usually targeted to a certain demographic where you think your company, its products and services, work best. Company profiles should include a sample brief description of you and your company, your inspirations behind establishing it, how it came to be. It should also talk about your products and services, and why you chose to provide these products and services to your customers.

Startup company profiles are just a little different from your usual company profile from already established businesses, since its a startup, you don’t have much history to talk about and you may or may not have any achievements to produce impressive credentials. As a new company, your profile should be able to intrigue potential customers enough to make them buy and avail your services, or at least want to know more about it. A well drafted company profile can do all of this and more.

How to Write a Startup Company Profile

Company profiles really are not the hardest things in the world to make. But since this is for the introduction to your new company, you have to pay extra attention to the key steps that make a company profile effective. We have to make sure that it is engaging and interesting, we want that traffic and attention from the customers and potential investors. And consistent and concise enough, to not lose their interest mid-read. These key steps I mentioned, will be discussed more in detail below.

  1. Establish your purpose
Well, we may have already established the purpose early on, which is marketing, but its still good to talk about it more in detail. You see, company profiles aren’t just used for marketing, several companies use company profiles for investment plans, tax reports, new business ventures, and sometimes even for sample website use. So it is important to know what you’re writing this profile for. It’ll give you a rough idea of what information to include, what information you might need, and how you want to present these information overall.
  2. Pick a style
The style dictates how information in your profile is presented. After figuring out what the purpose is, your style should fit that purpose statement. You can opt for a more visually  appealing motif, something that has a lot of graphics, or you can go for a more formal, text heavy style. As long as it is professional looking with still quite a bit of personality, it is good. Another thing, it might be a good idea for your style to reflect what kind of company you are, or the services you offer, it provides customers of a quick snapshot of your new business.
  3. Tell a story
A good story is a great way to connect with your customers, makes your company a whole lot relatable. You can tell them how your company began, what drove you to starting this new business, the inspiration behind it, and what motivates you to keep going. There’s not much room for achievements or milestones because, we’re only a startup company. But you can list the goals list that your company can work it to achieve, milestones that you are aiming for as a company, and the continuous improvement of the quality of service as you move forward. You can also include your mission and vision values in your profile. Overall,  it is really up to you, you just have to make sure that your story is honest and effective.
  4. Include contact information
Finally, make sure your customers have somewhere to reach out after reading your profile. We want that customer traffic immediately and a profile without your contact information is just pretty much useless. Include details such as contact numbers, address where you mainly operate or your physical store, and a website if you already have one.
