Certified nursing aides or CNAs are most commonly found in hospices and hospitals assisting nurses. They take care of the very sick and elderly in hospitals and nursing homes, performing such diverse tasks as bathing, dressing, or assisting them in their toileting schedules. They also help patients in hospitals take their temperatures and blood pressures and reporting the results to the head nurse.

Our Sample Objectives for CNAs give a comprehensive guide to their relevant coursework and work experience. They give details on how CNAs can achieve their tasks to the best of their abilities and the objectives by which these can be achieved.

CNAs typically provide a hands-on approach to nursing care of patients and clients in a variety of health care settings. Since they’re not allowed to provide medicines, they are relegated to the tasks of taking vital signs and measurements of patients and clients besides helping them clean themselves and dressing them. Since caring for sick people requires hands-on approach, it’s not uncommon for CNAs to get sick themselves several times over the course of their work experience. Being charged with taking care of the sick requires a lot of commitment and compassion, plus very good work ethic on such a physically demanding job.

While being a CNA just requires a high school diploma in some countries, persons who work in this profession usually make this job as a stepping stone to become full-fledged nurses. The experience they gathered from working as CNAs oftentimes give them valuable insights on how to properly care for patients in a manner that is right and proper. Besides that reason, being a CNA does not really make you earn a high salary and this can often be a source of discontent for a lot of those who practice this profession. Those who do stick with this job are those who have no plans of enhancing their career but who are truly committed to caring for sick individuals.

For those registered nurses who need to apply in hospitals, our Sample Nurse Resumes will act as guides on giving insights on how to properly place their objectives and commitment of their profession. These can be edited or modified after downloading and can be used for each user’s own resume.

Admittedly, being a CNA won’t make you rich. For most CNAs, the job is just a stepping stone to a higher medical profession. CNAs cannot also work independently without the direct supervision of a nurse. They cannot offer their services nor be able to advertise them. They can only be hired when they are being supervised by a registered nurse and under no circumstances will they be able to diagnose patients except reporting on their vital signs.

A CNA’s pay will never get you rich if you choose this profession, but you’ll be rewarded with a rich experience of learning to care for people and having the will to serve without prejudices.

For hospitals and health care facilities looking for registered nurses, our Nurse Job Description samples will guide them on the duties and responsibilities expected of nurses. These are all free to download in Word Doc or PDF and can be modified for user specifications.
